Dr. Achilleas Vassilopoulos has joined the ICRE8 core research group

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Achilleas Vassilopoulos joined the ICRE8 core research group in June 2016 as a senior researcher in the SIMRA H2020 project, a project manager in the BRIGAID H2020 project and assistant manager of the Greek chapter of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN Greece). Achilleas has an undergraduate diploma in Agricultural Economics, an MBA in Agribusiness management and a PhD in Consumer Behaviour from the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA), Greece. In the past, he has worked as a consultant-economist for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of AUA. Also, he is or had been working for the EU projects: “Social Innovation in Marginalised Rural Areas (acronym: SIMRA)”, “BRIdging the GAp for Innovations in Disaster resilience (acronym: BRIGAID)” “Partnership, healthy eating and innovative governance as tools to counteract obesity and overweight (acronym: Obesity Governance)”, “Increasing fruit consumption through a trans-disciplinary approach delivering high quality produce from environmentally friendly, sustainable production methods (acronym:ISAFRUIT)”, ‘‘EPODE for the Promotion of Health Equity (acronym: EPHE)’’ and ‘‘Innovative precision technologies for optimized irrigation and integrated crop management in a water-limited agrosystem’’. His research focuses on Experimental and Behavioural economics, Choice Experiments, Contingent Valuation and Agribusiness. His academic work has been published in journals such as Economic Modelling, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Economics Letters and others.
