ICRE8 participates in ICARUS H2020 project 1st Stakeholder Engagement Event

 

Klea Morianou, general administrator at ICRE8 and manager at UN SDSN - Greece participated in the 1st the Stakeholder Engagement Event of the European funded H2020 project ICARUS – “Integrated Climate forcing and Air pollution Reduction in Urban Systems”. The event was organized by the Environmental Engineering Laboratory (EnvΕ-Lab) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) (ICARUS H2020 project coordinator, in collaboration with the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (A.D.D.M.A.) and the Resilient Office of the City of Athens at the Europe Direct premises on Thursday 3 November 2016.

The agenda included an overview of ICARUS project methodological framework and stakeholders engagement followed by open discussion & introduction of stakeholders. The integration of ICARUS Methodology into Local / Regional / National Action Plans & Policy Framework and the connection with the Resilient Cities concept was also discussed in the meeting.

The ICARUS project’s main objective is to develop integrated tools and strategies for urban impact assessment in support of air quality and climate change governance in EU Member States leading to the design and implementation of appropriate abatement strategies to improve the air quality and reduce the carbon footprint in European cities.
