How to make the UN Sustainable Development Goals Europe’s Business

Prof. Phoebe Koundouri (AUEB, ICRE8, LSE) and Prof. Andreas Papandreou (NKUA, ICRE8), co-chairs of the UN SDSN Greek Chapter, attended the UN SDSN Leadership Council meeting on “How to make the UN Sustainable Development Goals Europe’s Business", on May 30 and 31 in Brussels. 

The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the SDG Charter, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

Here are the main objectives of the meeting:

  • Agree on the objectives for SDSN Networks in 2016 and 2017.
  • Explore opportunities for regional mobilization and support to regional processes linked with the SDGs.
  • Discuss localization of the SDGs: Existing and new SDSN tools, examples of local initiatives and successful outputs developed by networks and follow up opportunities.
