Dr. Lemonia Ragia
Dr. Lemonia Ragia has a diploma degree from the Department of Rural and Surveying Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her doctoral degree was at the Institute of Photogrammetry, University of Bonn, Germany supervised by Prof. W. Förstner. Her doctoral thesis was entitled: "A data quality model for validating photogrammetric data acquisition" funded by the German telecommunications company DeTeMobil GmbH. After completing her doctoral thesis she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Knowledge Discovery Team, Fraunhofer Institute for Autonomous lnteligent Systems (IAIS now) working on spatial data mining. After that she worked as a senior research scientist at the Information Systems and Database Technology of the Computer Science Department of the Technical University of Aachen, Germany working in the area of spatial databases and data integration. She visited the database group at Microsoft Research, Seattle, USA to work on model management and schema matching. She was Maitre Assistant at the University of Geneva, Switzerland working on location based services and 3D modelling of spatial data. She was a Visiting Professor at the University of Toronto, Canada working on high performance visualization of spatial information and spatial data mining of archaeological data in the Dynamic Graphics Project. She is working at the area of Geographic Information System for modeling geological data at the Technical University of Crete and image processing for cadaster update with the University of Geneva. She has given lectures, taught at Technical University of Crete, participated in several projects and has written many publications in the area of image processing, spatial analysis and Geoinfomatics. She is chairing the GISTAM 2018 conference.
