BlueBridge contribution in HYDROMEDIT 2016
The objective and the scope of the BlueBridge project, focusing on the WP6, Blue Economy, work and outcomes, was presented under the title “BLUEBRIDGE: CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE SERVING AQUAFARMS” (by Eleni Petra from UoA, Gerasimos Antzoulatos from I2S, Haralambos Dimitrakopoulos from CITE and Stella Tsani from ICRE8) in a dedicated technical workshop of more that 120 participants during HYDROMEDIT 2016. More precisely, the current progress and the cost driven techno-economic evaluation model for aquaculture as well as the socio-environmental impact in cost-driven production models were presented in detail.
The technical presentation was followed by a practical experimentation, in which 18 students, researchers and experts became members and exploited the tools of the Aquaculture Lab VRE.
The main objective of the conference was to examine the global trends and innovations for the sustainable development of aquaculture and fisheries. The conference was organized by the Department of Ichtyology and Aquatic Environment (DIAE), School of Agricultural Sciences, University of Thessaly (UTh), and the Panhellenic Society of Technologists Ichtyologists (PASTI). It was supported by European Aquaculture Society (EAS), American Fisheries Society (AFS), Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, Serbia, Iranian Ornamental Fish Scientific Society (IOFS), MAzandaran Science and Technology Park (IRAN) and Panhellenic Union of Graduate Ichtyologists Working on Public Sector (PEPIAED).
