SURED 2018: Conference on Sustainable Resource Use and Economic Dynamics CALL FOR PAPERS
Conference on Sustainable Resource Use and Economic Dynamics
Ascona (Switzerland), 3-7 June 2018
Deadline for paper submission:
January 31st, 2018
ETH Zurich, in cooperation with partners from Tilburg University and University of East Anglia and with the support of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), host SURED - Conference on Sustainable Resource Use and Economic Dynamics, a biannual conference on resource, energy, and sustainability economics. SURED 2018 will be held in Ascona (Switzerland) from 3 to 7 June 2018.
The aim of the conference is to compile innovative current research from resource, energy and environmental economics and dynamic economic theory. By bringing together leading experts, junior and senior scholars and young researchers in these fields, the conference covers a broad range of aspects regarding the relationship between natural resource use and long-term economic development.
The conference will be the eighth of a series. The SURED conferences in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016 were generally considered great successes. Participants came from all over Europe as well as from America and Asia. The conference papers reached the highest international standards and the presentations were very professional.
We welcome contributions from the fields of:
- environmental economics
- resource economics
- energy economics
- economic dynamics
- growth theory.
Keynote and invited lectures are given by internationally distinguished researchers. There are special sessions for young economists.
Submission will be possible in November until January 31st. A second call for papers will remind you!
Keynote and Invited Lectures
- Lint Barrage Brown University, U.S.A.
- Aart de Zeeuw Tilburg University, Netherlands
- Bard Harstad University of Oslo, Norway
Special Issue of "Resource and Energy Economics"
A special issue of Resource and Energy Economics will be devoted to the SURED 2018 conference in Ascona, Switzerland. The special issue will contain a selection of around 7-8 papers of the conference (keynote/invited lectures and contributed papers). It will be edited by Lucas Bretschger and Mireille Chiroleu-Assouline.
The normal quality standards of REE apply; the usual refereeing process will be followed. Papers need to make a substantial, novel and relevant contribution to the literature. As regards the topics, many papers will naturally be close to the main theme of the conference that is sustainable resource use and economic dynamics. Contributions do not necessarily need to have a dynamic model, they have to contribute to environmental and resource economics in a significant manner.
